Support for flexible working style

Flextime System

Employees can flexibly choose their work start and end times between 5:00 and 22:00.
This will support flexible work styles according to work and personal circumstances.

Half-day use of annual paid leave (up to 16 times)

Employees can take up to 16 annual paid days off ("annual leave") per year in half-day units.
We support flexible work styles and promote the use of annual leave.

– Nationwide go home early day (no overtime days, twice a month), reducing overtime work by shutting down PCs –

We have established nationwide no-overtime work days to improve work productivity and achieve a better work-life balance.
We have also set a time for shutting down PCs to encourage employees to reduce their overtime work.

Support system for balancing work and childcare

We have various systems in place to enable employees to balance work with childcare and nursing care with peace of mind.

  • <Restrictions on overtime and holiday work>It is possible to apply for restrictions on overtime and holiday work
  • <Restrictions on late-night work>It is possible to apply for restrictions on working between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • <Prenatal/postnatal maternity leave (unpaid)> It is possible to apply for up to 7 weeks before the expected date of delivery to up 8 weeks after delivery.
  • <Leave to support the birth of a baby (paid)>Up to 4 days can be taken
  • <Childcare leave (unpaid)>Up to 2 years after childbirth or after the end of postnatal maternity leave can be taken
  • <Childcare leave benefits>Provided by employment insurance
  • <Shortened working hours for childcare>Application is possible up until the child reaches the end of the third grade of elementary school
    (Shortened up to 2 hours or 6 hours of prescribed working hours, exemption from overtime)
  • <Childcare time (30 minutes twice a day)>Can be obtained until the child reaches the age of one
  • <Restrictions on overtime work>Application is possible up until the child is to start elementary school
  • <Restrictions on late-night work>Application is possible up until the child is in elementary school
  • <Sick/Injured childcare leave (paid)>Can be taken in half-day units as leave for a child's nursing care and attending health examinations
    Can be taken until the child is to start elementary school
    Up to 5 days per year (up to 10 days if there are 2 or more eligible children) can be taken
  • <Lump-sum childbirth and childcare payment>Provided by the health insurance association
  • <Birth / school admission congratulatory payment>Provided by the mutual aid association

Support system for balancing work and nursing care

We have various systems in place for employees who are caring for family members in need of nursing care.

  • <Nursing care leave (unpaid)>Up to 5 days (up to 10 days if the target family members are 2 or more) per year can be taken in half-day units
  • <Nursing care leave benefit>Once for each family member requiring nursing care, up to 2 years in total
  • <Shortened working hours for nursing care>Provided by employment insurance (up to 93 days)
  • <Exemption from overtime work>1 hour reduction for 3 years from the date of first use
  • <Restrictions on overtime work> It is possible to apply for exemption from overtime work
  • <Restrictions on late-night work>It is possible to apply for restrictions on overtime work (24 hours a month, up to 150 hours a year)
